Overview
The Higher Education Academy of Sport currently operates a higher education delivery site, located in Hyde, Manchester. The site consists of 20 students (9HNC/11HND), each cohort receives 12 hours academic deliver per week and we are looking for an ambitious sports tutor to join our team. The students are also part of a local academy and take part in regular football training sessions.
Job outline
* To deliver HNC/HND Sport qualifications
* To compile and assess tutorial, & work experience curriculums
* To deliver engaging and effective training sessions to groups
* Contribute towards ensuring excellent student attendance & retention
* To safeguard the welfare of all students, preventing radicalisation and promoting British Values
Key Responsibilities
Training
* To plan and deliver excellent engaging, effective and innovative group training sessions to students that accommodates students' individual needs, including SEND and support requirements
* To deliver training that meets criteria and standards for HNC/HND Sport qualifications
* To deliver training that meets the criteria and standards for tutorial & work experience curriculums
* To ensure that students' work-skills are developed and that they are ready for working life, and/or other higher education study by the time they leave Higher Education Academy of Sport.
* To plan and facilitate engaging schemes of work
* Arrange and facilitate motivational visits/activities
Assessment
* To conduct & use initial assessment effectively and set students appropriate, but challenging, targets & goals
* To assess readiness and map units for HNC/HND portfolio and provide regular supportive, constructive feedback to develop students' knowledge, skill and behaviours
* To conduct and document meaningful student reviews where appropriate
Attendance/Retention
* Ensure that student attendance & retention targets are met, with absences robustly followed up and effective interventions being deployed
Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG)
* Assist and empower students to fulfil their potential by increasing expectations and raising aspirations.
* To know and understand where to access local and national support agencies to ensure all students access to good, quality IAG about learning and work to improve their employability potential, achieve personal ambitions and help to their next step.
* To signpost and refer students who need support and document this, as per procedure.
Progression
* To ensure all students progress to a positive destination.
* Undertake networking & marketing activities, including social media, to keep up to date with progression opportunities.
* Monitor student's programme end date to ensure progression is timely.
* Undertake tracking of students who have left programme and provide on-going support
Administration
* To complete all required documentation in accordance with laid down procedures to meet both contractual and internal requirements including ILPs, Learner Support Packs, reviews, trackers, student surveys and course reviews.
Targets
* To achieve targets to meet KPIs

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
