Job Description
The Surveying Advisory team of the Investors & Transactions business unit within WSP UK Advisory is seeking a building surveying technical and business lead to strengthen our team. The role will be based in London, Birmingham, or Manchester.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of complex projects as project director.
* Manage commercial and operational performance to deliver business objectives and analyse and report on performance against budgets.
* Resource Management: Ensure accurate resource forecasts; maintain team utilisation in line with budget and control overhead spend.
* People Management: Act as People Manager for the senior leadership team / key staff in buildings surveying and MEP Technical Services team.
* Business Development/Work Winning: Lead a work-winning and customer‑centric culture that is client‑focused and drives pipeline.
* Strategy/Budget – Own and develop the business strategy growth plan in line with the WSP UK 2025‑2027 action plan.
Qualifications and Experience
* Technical knowledge in building surveying of various asset types.
* Technical knowledge of delivery of Centre of Best Practice requirements in healthcare assets.
* Inter‑personal skills with good leadership and management abilities.
* Commercial and strategic capability with a demonstrable track record in identifying and delivering new business opportunities.
* Expert stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
* Demonstrated ability to improve, motivate, and drive change programmes and an innovative culture.
* Forward‑thinking, capable of visualising and planning for the longer term.
* A broad range of project experience, both within the discipline and multi‑disciplinary.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to lead and facilitate workshops, training sessions and coaching.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Degree‑level qualification in building surveying, mechanical or electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
* Chartered status in a relevant profession aligned with the role.
* A broad range of building surveying and/or MEP project experience across various types of real‑estate assets and/or social infrastructure.
