Job Description:
Our client, headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria, is part of a European group specializing in logistics for semi-solid and liquefied hydrocarbons in Africa. The family-owned company operates advanced production facilities and is expanding its transportation fleet and logistics network across Nigeria and West Africa.
We are seeking an experienced Plant Director - Oil & Gas Industry to oversee and develop the company's production facilities in Rivers State, Nigeria.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Manage operational, financial, and strategic aspects of the production plant, ensuring safety and compliance.
2. Lead multidisciplinary teams across various departments to achieve high efficiency and reliability.
3. Oversee plant processes, including production scheduling, resource management, quality assurance, and incident prevention.
4. Accountable for the plant’s P&L, budgets, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
5. Drive strategic growth through improvements, technology upgrades, and process innovations.
6. Implement and enforce health, safety, environmental, and security protocols.
7. Act as the main liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and community leaders.
8. Represent the plant in company initiatives and expansion strategies.
9. Report directly to the Group COO and coordinate with the HQ in Abuja.
Your Profile:
* Relevant engineering degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical); Master’s in Business Administration or related field is a plus.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil & gas sector, with at least 10 years in leadership roles.
* Experience overseeing complex plant operations, safety, and project execution.
* Strong financial management skills, including budget and ROI analysis.
* Proven leadership in HR management, safety, and environmental standards.
* Strategic thinker with a track record of operational improvements and growth initiatives.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Adaptable, resilient, and proactive in change management and problem-solving.
* Recognized as a detail-oriented, ethical, and innovative leader.
