The role of a Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the people living within Orchard Homes. We ensure everyone is cared for with dignity and respect, and they are engaged in how they receive support from our staff. You will play a key role in ensuring they participate in meaningful activities and receive the best support tailored to their individual needs.
Responsibilities include:
1. Enabling people to remain as independent as possible while providing support and assistance according to their needs, including personal care such as washing, dressing, and oral care.
2. Being understanding and patient, encouraging and supporting individuals to participate in leisure activities suited to their preferences, and supporting them to attend outside appointments and outings.
3. Making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning duties, and ensuring the home remains clean, pleasant, and welcoming.
4. Helping to serve meals and drinks, presenting them attractively, and supporting individuals during mealtimes.
5. Understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements relevant to the role, such as Health & Safety, COSHH, Care Standards Act, and Infection Prevention and Control policies to maintain a safe environment.
