The role: Leading fire safety with authority and assurance As Fire Safety Manager, you’ll be the Appointed Person (AP) for fire safety, responsible for developing and delivering a robust fire safety management strategy across acute and community sites. This is a high-trust, high-impact role that demands technical expertise, strategic thinking, and confident leadership. You’ll work closely with clinical teams, senior Trust leaders, and external regulators to ensure full compliance with fire safety legislation, while fostering a proactive safety culture across the organisation. Key responsibilities * Serve as the senior fire safety specialist and trusted advisor to Atlas and its clients * Lead the development and implementation of fire safety policies, risk management strategies, and audit programmes * Deliver expert guidance and training aligned with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, HTM 05, and other relevant legislation * Conduct fire risk assessments, manage incident investigations, and maintain statutory documentation * Liaise with the Trust, Fire and Rescue Services, and regulatory bodies * Prepare formal reports and performance updates for Client Boards and Assurance Committees * Mentor fire safety team members and manage external contractors * Ensure seamless communication and partnership working between Atlas and the Trust What you’ll bring * HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline, plus NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (or equivalent) * Membership of a recognised fire safety body (e.g. Institute of Fire Engineers) * Extensive experience in fire safety management, including risk assessments and training delivery * Deep understanding of fire-related legislation and guidance * Strong communication skills and confidence to engage across all levels * A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety excellence Why Atlas? * A values-led organisation with a public service ethos * A role with real-world impact across healthcare environments * A chance to lead, influence, and shape fire safety strategy * A supportive team and a culture of continuous improvement Ready to protect what matters most?
