Role: Site Manager Location: Bromborough, Wirral Salary: £14 – 16 per hour Working Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday Start date: May 2026 To apply, you must show proof of right to work in the UK. About the Role Connex Education is working in partnership with a primary school in Upton to recruit a full-time Site Manager. To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience as a Site Manager, Caretaker, or in a similar role within a school or comparable setting. Key Responsibilities Open and secure the school site, including alarms and access control Ensure heating, lighting and utilities are operated efficiently Maintain the safety, security and cleanliness of the buildings and grounds Conduct regular health and safety checks (including fire alarms, emergency exits, playground equipment and compliance logs) Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance Monitor and record statutory compliance checks (e.g. fire, legionella, asbestos, utilities) Oversee cleaning standards and ensure supplies are replenished Manage waste disposal and grounds upkeep, including seasonal duties (e.g. gritting, gutter clearing) Liaise with and supervise contractors on site Maintain maintenance schedules, service records and site documentation Support safeguarding by ensuring perimeter security and safe storage Assist with room set-ups and operational requirements for school activities This list is not exhaustive and may be adapted to meet the needs of the school. About the School This three-form entry school is a warm, inclusive, community-focused setting with high expectations for all. Staff work collaboratively to provide a supportive learning environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning, underpinned by strong values and positive relationships. Assignment Details This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, starting after May half term 2026. Hours are normally a split shift: 6:30am -1pm and 5-6pm lock up for an hour. The assignment is expected to run for approximately six months (until September 2026), with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate. Person Specification Previous experience in the same or a similar role. A current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex.
