Job Summary:
The post holder will work as an integral member of the Infant Feeding Team, under the direct supervision of the Infant Feeding Specialist Midwife.
While the role requires flexibility to support infant feeding practices across the entire maternity unit, the primary base will be the postnatal ward.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Infant Feeding Specialist Midwife in achieving and maintaining UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation standards throughout the maternity unit.
2. Provide evidence-based health education, advice, and support to new parents on infant feeding and care to promote the health and well-being of both mother and baby.
3. Offer practical guidance and emotional support to empower parents in their infant feeding choices and care practices.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure consistent and effective infant feeding support and education.
