Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company's credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding rents while maintaining positive relationships with clients. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software, as well as excellent phone etiquette to effectively communicate with customers.
Responsibilities
* Manage the credit control process from start to finish, including invoicing and follow-ups on outstanding payments.
* Conduct thorough analysis of customer accounts to identify overdue payments and assess credit risk.
* Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently to maintain up-to-date records of all transactions.
* Liaise with clients via phone and email to resolve payment issues and negotiate repayment plans when necessary.
* Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation of accounts.
* Utilise telemarketing skills to contact customers regarding overdue accounts and promote timely payment.
* Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts and present findings to management for review.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a financial services environment, preferably in a credit control or accounts receivable role.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
* Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong organisational skills.
