The role:
To provide a high-quality customer focussed Finance service across the College, supporting managers and staff to contribute to the achievement of the College’s Strategic and Operational objectives and the implementation of the College’s Financial Strategy.
1. 37 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
5. Daily management of the College finance functions, including line management of finance department staff.
6. Responsibility for the maintenance and control of the finance system.
7. Produce College monthly management accounts with full supporting analyses on a timely basis.
8. Full preparation of the annual financial statements of the College together with the supporting notes in preparation for the external audit and submission to WG.
9. Manage payroll function to ensure payment of monthly payroll.
10. Encourage innovation within the finance function by supporting the identification and practical implementation of ideas, whilst eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy.
About you:
11. Educated to degree level or equivalent
12. Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA etc)
13. Experience supervising / line managing a team
14. Fully conversant and up to date with all aspects of Accounting Standards, Payroll legislation, VAT legislation and Finance related best practice
15. Experienced in using and administrating all aspects of payroll software systems
