The job itself
Are you someone who enjoys working with people and has good core values and ethics? Someone who can demonstrate an understanding the needs of people with a learning disability?
If so, then we are looking to recruit a pool of Casual Care Workers to support our team of Care Workers within the Beechwood scheme, who work a range of shifts between the hours of 7am up until 10.45pm.
You will be expected to:
1. Have good verbal and written communication skills.
2. Have a person centred and flexible approach.
3. Be able to work on your own initiative.
4. Work in partnership with families and other agencies.
5. Good time management skills.
6. Good I.T. Skills.
7. Ideally you will also hold a full driving licence.
Duties within this role will include:
8. Working with a small staff team to ensure good standards of support to individuals in their homes to support independence and choice in terms of their daily routines and activities.
9. Personal care routines, household tasks, menu planning and cooking, medication and health appointments, social activities and outings, employment, hobbies and interests.
10. Supporting people to achieve their desired outcomes.
11. Ensuring good health and safety.
12. You must be willing to develop skills and undertake required training for the role (This will include the East Riding Care Certificate portfolio).
