Role
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Class 5 Metro Driver, based at our Hastings Branch. This Class 5 Driver role is a permanent full-time position, reporting to the Hastings Branch Manager. You will be required to work a minimum of 45 hours per week, starting Monday to Friday. This is day work.
Responsibilities
Note: Responsibilities are described through the role requirements and expectations in the qualifications below, including safely operating a Class 5 vehicle and working to company standards.
* Safely operate a Class 5 metro truck and trailer unit with confidence.
* Work up to a minimum of 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday (day work).
* Work unsupervised while maintaining strong, reliable and safe work ethics.
* Communicate effectively in English and relate well to others.
Qualifications
Must have:
* Clean and valid Class 5 drivers Licence
* Dangerous Goods Endorsement
* Minimum 2 years’ experience of class 5 driving in New Zealand domestic transport industry or international comparison
* Good driving skills, able to drive and back a truck and trailer unit with confidence
* Strong, reliable and safe work ethics
* Able to work unsupervised
* Good command of the English language
* Relates well to others
Desirable:
* Current Forklift Operator Certificate
* Current DG Handling for Road Transport Certificate
* Basic knowledge of the geographic layout
* First Aid certificate
