Zehnder Rittling is hiring a full-time (40 hours/week) skilled SENIOR PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST / PLANNER to join our Facility in Buffalo, New York.
For this on-site position, in the Western New York area, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced buyer / procurement specialist to manage the supply chain, sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, vendor management and delivery of materials, products, and services for our organization. The successful candidate will ensure timely and cost-effective procurement, optimize supplier relationships, and maintain compliance with internal policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Sourcing and Procurement:
o Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors based on product quality, cost, and delivery time.
o Issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and negotiate terms with suppliers.
o Monitor and manage the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with organizational needs.
* Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure reliable service and competitive pricing.
* Develop new supplier relationships to improve product offerings and cost efficiency.
* Conduct performance reviews and resolve issues related to product quality or delivery delays.
* Budget and Cost Control:
o Work closely with department managers to understand procurement needs required to achieve forecasted sales.
o Analyze market trends and evaluate cost-saving opportunities.
o Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers to maximize savings.
* Compliance and Documentation:
o Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational procurement policies.
o Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, tool lending and supplier agreements.
o Prepare reports on procurement activities and cost savings for management review.
* Inventory Management:
o Track inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of supplies to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
o Work with internal stakeholders to forecast material requirements.
* Identify potential risks in the procurement process (e.g., supplier instability, market fluctuations) and take appropriate actions to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
* Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement or purchasing roles.
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage supplier relationships.
* Familiarity with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
* Knowledge of supply chain management principles and contract negotiation a plus.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Legally entitled to work in the United States
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in industrial manufacturing may be advantageous.
* Certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
Join our team as a SENIOR PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST / PLANNER Salary $65,000 to $85,000 Full-time, day shift position (40 hours per week), with additional hours as needed to support business and departmental needs.
