Modern Apprentice Accountancy Assistant (x2 positions)
Location: Stirling Council Finance Team
Age Requirement: 16–19 years old (by 30 November)
A rare and exciting opportunity has opened up for two Modern Apprentices to join the Stirling Council Finance Team as Accountancy Assistants.
This is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience in public sector finance while working towards a nationally recognised qualification – the AAT Certificate in Accounting (SCQF Level 6).
What You’ll Learn:
1. How accounting works in a real-world public sector organisation
2. Skills in preparing budgets (revenue and capital)
3. How to compile grant claims and financial statistics
4. Use of IT systems and finance tools
5. Teamwork and communication in a professional environment
What You’ll Need:
6. Higher Maths and English (or equivalent)
7. A genuine interest in finance, numbers, and learning new skills
8. Willingness to work hard and grow in a supportive team
Who Can Apply:
9. You must be aged 16–19 by 30 November
10. If you’re aged 20–29 and are care experienced or have a disability, you may still be eligible through enhanced Modern Apprenticeship funding
