We are currently seeking a Front-end Web Developer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining high-quality web experiences across our platforms, used by millions of students worldwide. Working closely with designers, developers, and stakeholders, you'll help shape the front-end of our websites ensuring they’re are accessible, responsive, and user-focused.
Responsibilities
* Write clean, reusable, and well-documented JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and SCSS code.
* Turn UI/UX designs into responsive, interactive, and accessible web experiences
* Optimise website performance and speed, with a focus on Core Web Vitals
* Develop and maintain user-friendly features across both public-facing sites and internal systems
* Contribute to design system consistency through reusable components and best practices
* Collaborate within an agile team, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
* Work closely with designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality web features.
Skills Required
* Strong understanding of HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
* Experience working with responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap.
* Comfortable working with modern front-end JavaScript frameworks.
* Knowledge of CSS pre-processors.
* Experience with cross-browser testing and front-end debugging.
* Proven track record (3+ years) in a front-end development role.
* Ability to translate UI/UX designs into functioning, user-centric interfaces.
* Understanding of accessibility principles and standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1).
Nice to Have
* Experience with React or other front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, Svelte).
* Experience working with component libraries or design systems.
* Familiarity with UX/design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Photoshop).
* Experience using Jira for task tracking and sprint planning.
* Understanding of version control and branching strategies.
* Knowledge of SEO and how front-end code impacts search visibility.
