About the Role: As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised, one-to-one support to a student with additional needs, assisting with learning, behaviour, and personal development to help them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personalised one-to-one support to a pupil with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and engage fully in classroom activities.
* Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and adapting resources to meet the individual learning and developmental needs of the pupil.
* Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting resilience, confidence, and positive interactions.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, families, and external professionals to implement and review individual education plans effectively.
* Monitor and record the pupil’s progress, providing feedback and observations to inform teaching strategies and personalised support.
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school or educational setting.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusive teaching practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience, with the ability to adapt approaches to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement and monitor personalised education plans.
