Overview
Arboricultural Consultant role at WSP in the UK & Ireland. WSP has a large, experienced Ecology and Arboriculture team delivering work across a variety of sectors in the UK for private and public sector clients. The team provides integrated support by working with in‑house specialists to deliver commercially balanced, innovative and integrated arboriculture solutions. Location is flexible across the UK.
Responsibilities
* Site-based surveys, assessments, measurements, inspections and monitoring in relation to BS5837:2012 and tree hazard assessments.
* Collation and interpretation of arboricultural information from desk studies.
* Preparing technical reports and feasibility studies, inputting into arboricultural impact assessments and arboricultural method statements.
* Liaising with the design team to develop mitigation solutions.
* Data analysis and project management.
What We Will Be Looking For
* Enthusiasm for arboriculture and willingness to learn
* Appropriate academic qualification in arboriculture and experience undertaking surveys
* Experience as an arboriculture consultant and/or local authority tree officer or similar
* Experience in undertaking arboriculture surveys using digital data capture
* Experience in inputting to and producing high quality technical arboriculture reports in support of planning applications
* The ability to work in a pragmatic team of arboricultural, landscape and environmental professionals
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and arboricultural survey methodologies
* The flexibility to travel and work away from home within the UK regularly
* A desire to develop your core arboriculture and consultancy skills
