Join to apply for the Volunteer Event Manager | Heritage Bridge CIO role at Heritage Bridge CIO
Plan community events that support individuals and promote anti-racism. Join our nonprofit to create inclusive spaces and raise awareness through meaningful, public-facing activities.
What difference will you make?
As a Volunteer Event Manager, you’ll help shape the way our community connects, understands, and supports one another. Your events will create vital spaces where unhoused individuals feel seen, heard, and supported—and where broader audiences can learn, engage, and take action. Through your efforts, people facing housing insecurity will gain access to resources, support, and a sense of belonging. Your work will also educate the public, challenge harmful stereotypes, and foster empathy and inclusion. Every event—whether a drop-in info session, anti-racism workshop, or community gathering—will contribute to a more connected and compassionate city. You’ll play a key role in breaking down isolation and building bridges across lines of race, class, and lived experience. By volunteering with us, you help change narratives, build trust, and move us closer to a world where everyone belongs.
What are we looking for?
We seek someone organized, proactive, and passionate about social justice. Experience managing or coordinating events in a nonprofit or community setting is preferred, along with the ability to provide a case study or example of a leading or assisting role in an event. Comfort working independently and in small teams, with strong communication skills and adaptability, is essential. Experience engaging with marginalized or diverse communities is a plus. Most importantly, you care deeply about inclusion, anti-racism, and supporting unhoused individuals. If you’re creative, impactful, and eager to contribute, we want to hear from you.
What will you be doing?
You will help plan and deliver community events supporting our mission of bridging communities, preventing racism, and assisting unhoused individuals. This includes organizing awareness workshops, drop-in info sessions, and outreach initiatives. The goal is to plan and execute successful events that reflect our values and engage diverse audiences. You will collaborate with our team, outreach volunteers, and partner organizations, with support provided throughout. The role is flexible and can be adapted to your strengths and availability, including virtual or on-the-ground events and creative collaborations.
