Classroom Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Sunderland
Pay Rate: £13.68 per hour (dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
Start Date: May 2025 onwards (Long-Term Role)
The School and Role
Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant to join a supportive school environment in Sunderland. This long-term opportunity involves working closely with children and young people who have Autism and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will play a key role in supporting students with their daily activities, learning goals, and emotional development. This is a rewarding position for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting the learning and development of primary and secondary pupils with SEND.
2. Helping students engage in classroom activities and achieve their learning objectives.
3. Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
4. Providing one-to-one or small group support where needed.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
5. Experience working with children in primary and/or secondary schools.
6. Previous experience supporting children with SEND needs.
7. A strong passion for helping SEND pupils reach their potential.
8. The ability to work well as part of a team.
9. A flexible, proactive, and patient approach to supporting learners.
