Lecturer in Game Development
Hours of work: 37 hours per week
Salary: £33,202 - £42,226
Location: Selby Campus
Responsibilities
Teach and develop courses for our Games Development programme, working closely with Curriculum Managers to establish and expand the provision at Selby Campus. Coordinate and deliver vocational training and assessment, ensuring students gain high quality learning experiences focused on employability and professional practice. Foster external links with employers and industry partners to keep the curriculum current and cutting‑edge. Undertake support and professional development to excel in an academic role.
Qualifications
Hold a degree or master’s in Games Development (or a closely related field) and GCSE A*‑C / 9‑4 in Maths and English (or equivalent). Recent graduates or industry professionals with a passion for teaching are welcome.
Skills & Experience
* Knowledge of game development workflows, both independently and collaboratively.
* Experience with 2D and 3D art practices and processes.
* Working familiarity with C# programming or willingness to upskill.
* Understanding of business requirements in a game development context, including company logistics.
* Confidence using industry standard software such as project management tools, Blender, Unity, and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
* Awareness of the various specialisms within game development and their collaborative use.
* A creative or technical portfolio showcasing practical experience in game or interactive media production.
