Mid‑Senior Web Developer – Wakefield – Hybrid

About the Role
We are looking for a talented Mid–Senior Web Developer to join our growing digital team in Wakefield. You’ll play a key role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining our web applications across both the front‑end and back‑end. This role is ideal for someone passionate about modern web development, with a solid technical foundation and an eye for clean, user‑centred design.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain secure, scalable back‑end services using PHP and Node.js
* Work with SQL Server to design, query, and optimise relational databases
* Collaborate with designers, product owners, and stakeholders to refine user journeys
* Contribute to UI/UX discussions and help shape intuitive user interfaces
* Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team stand‑ups
* Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing applications
* Ensure best practices in performance, security, and maintainability
Required Skills & Experience
* 3–6+ years commercial web development experience
* Solid back‑end experience with both PHP and Node.js
* Experience working with SQL Server (stored procedures, optimisation, schema design)
* Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern development workflows
* Familiarity with version control (Git)
* Ability to work on‑site in Wakefield three days per week
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
Desirable (Nice to Have)
* Experience or interest in UI/UX design
* Knowledge of TypeScript
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines
