Head of Optimisation
Head of Optimisation sets the internal strategy for optimisation of BSC processes and systems, aligning to the overall BSC efficiency and cost targets. They own senior stakeholder relationships with group functions for optimisation agenda.
Key Accountabilities
* Process and System Optimisation Strategies – responsible for setting and communicating process and system optimisation strategies across the BSC, coordinating with peers to align objectives and deliver customer expectations, global best practices, and director‑level objectives.
* Academy Strategic Leadership – oversee BSC Academy, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment of offerings to business needs and justifying investment levels.
* Delivery of Optimisation Projects – provide deep knowledge of systems and end‑to‑end processes, oversee and drive design, build, and delivery of optimisation initiatives, ensuring positive business cases and delivery as designed.
* Identify Standardisation Requirements – lead identification of standardisation needs through documentation and gap analysis, managing the BSC process variants repository.
* Stakeholder Management – own BSC relationship with senior management in group functions, build collaborative communication paths, understand local requirements, and provide solutions.
* Budget and FTE Management – set and monitor cost and FTE targets for each department, ensuring efficiencies are locked into profiles.
* People Development – coach, mentor, and advise all levels of leadership across the department.
Financial & Non‑Financial Accountabilities
* Manage a department of up to approximately 20 FTE.
Education / Qualification
* Formal accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) or equivalent experience in an accounting‑focused role.
* Experience working in continuous improvement, transformation, operational excellence and/or optimisation projects.
