Business Development Manager
Location: Scotland (Aberdeen preferred) or North East England (within 40 miles of Newcastle)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 basic + £70,000 OTE
Sector: Software Solutions – Compliance, Inspections, Industrial Services
About the Role:
We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager to take ownership of growth and success
across Scotland, Ireland, and the North East of England (as far south as Middlesbrough). You'll be
responsible for a blend of new business sales and account management, working with companies
predominantly in the inspection, lifting equipment, and industrial compliance sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing software provider, supporting businesses in critical
industries like oil & gas, lifting equipment, and industrial inspection with innovative compliance and
inspection solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
• Identify, target, and win new business opportunities within your region.
• Generate your own leads, supported by targeted marketing activity.
• Promote a leading inspection and compliance software solution to industrial clients.
• Attend client meetings both in person and online to present and demonstrate the software.
Account Management & Customer Success:
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the client base.
• Deliver outstanding service and foster long-term relationships.
• Ensure high levels of client retention and satisfaction.
General Duties:
• Maintain strong product knowledge and stay informed on industry trends.
• Keep CRM systems and sales documentation up to date and professional.
• Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events.
• Provide regular updates to the leadership team on progress against targets.
• Work closely with internal teams to feedback market intelligence.
About You:
• Industrial background: Experience working within inspection services, lifting equipment, or
industrial compliance sectors is highly desirable.
• Sales experience: A strong background in B2B sales, particularly new business development
and account management.
• Self-starter: Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and manage your
territory.
• Technical aptitude: Comfortable discussing software solutions and understanding technical
client needs.
• Excellent communicator: Skilled in negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building.
