Job Title: Head of Service at HC-One
In your role as Head of Service at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist Care homes. Every team member understands that our Residents are individuals with their own stories. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
Your responsibilities will include helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will enjoy. You’ll assist in preparing cakes for the morning tea trolley and desserts for lunch. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene is essential. You will also manage food supplies, monitor fridge/freezer temperatures, train new staff on equipment use, and ensure a clean environment, always prioritizing resident well-being.
We are looking for someone with kitchen experience who is familiar with The Food Safety Act 1990, The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR, and COSHH regulations. Strong record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. Communication with residents and colleagues should be considerate and kind, reflecting your natural disposition.
This role is subject to experience and qualifications. We will provide full training, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you will have access to a wide range of benefits aimed at supporting your physical and psychological well-being, including:
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Free uniform
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays
* Group life assurance cover
* Outstanding learning and development opportunities, including support to achieve qualifications
* GP online service providing 24/7 GP consultations via an app, available to you and your children under 16
* Opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues within a dedicated team
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores
* Free access to an Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support
* Recognition schemes such as ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards
* Refer a Friend scheme offering up to £1000 per successful referral, depending on the role
We are committed to a swift onboarding process, from job offer to your first day with us.
