Do you enjoy working outdoors? This could be the job for you. We are looking for an individual to join a team that provides an efficient and effective parking service within Chichester District and whose main purpose is to enforce parking regulations.
You will be working within the stunning natural and historic landscape setting of Chichester District. Your duties will include patrolling Council car parks and highways throughout the district to enforce the parking regulations in accordance with the Traffic Management Act 2004, checking parking equipment and assisting the public with their enquiries. You will issue Penalty Charge Notices using handheld computerised devices along with making written notes. You must be observant and accurate when recording information and possess good numeracy and literacy skills. The successful applicant is required to either hold or to undertake and pass City and Guilds Level 2 Award for Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking Parts 1 & 2) (Roles and responsibilities and Conflict Management) to carry out the enforcement duties. Training for this will be provided.
We are looking for someone who can communicate tactfully and effectively with the public, often in difficult and challenging circumstances and are able to patrol long distances on foot in all weathers.
The hours of work will be an average 37-hour week, over a five day rota pattern which will include some weekends and early morning / later evening work at times.
A full uniform will be provided and full training will be given in all aspects of the role.
