What You'll Do In the capacity of Family Solicitor within this respected Birmingham-based practice, you will: Manage a comprehensive caseload of private family law matters including divorce proceedings, financial settlements involving substantial assets such as property portfolios and pensions, cohabitation disputes and agreements, prenuptial agreements, TOLATA claims, and children matters. Provide authoritative advice to clients at every stage of their case whilst upholding the highest standards of client care throughout all interactions. Represent clients in court hearings and negotiations with poise and professionalism, ensuring their interests are always safeguarded. Collaborate closely with colleagues across the department to facilitate knowledge sharing and deliver seamless service to clients. Participate actively in networking events and marketing initiatives to enhance the department’s profile and generate new business opportunities for the firm. Utilise the LEAP system proficiently for document management and accounts to ensure meticulous record-keeping and compliance with regulatory requirements. Contribute constructively to departmental meetings by sharing insights on best practices and supporting junior team members where appropriate. Demonstrate scrupulous attention to detail when preparing legal documents or reviewing complex financial information pertinent to family law cases. Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and developments in case law affecting family law practice areas. Balance independent working with collaborative projects in order to achieve departmental objectives while cultivating a supportive team environment. What You Bring To excel as a Family Solicitor in this appointment, your professional background should bring: At least five years post-qualification experience specialising in family law matters within England & Wales. Demonstrable advocacy experience representing clients in court hearings or negotiations pertaining to family law issues. A positive disposition characterised by enthusiasm for career progression within an environment that values professional development. Proven ability to expand or develop a department through effective networking strategies and marketing initiatives aimed at generating new business. Experience working autonomously on complex cases as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Exemplary client care skills underpinned by compassion, sensitivity, and clear communication tailored to each client's unique circumstances. Excellent analytical abilities coupled with sound problem-solving skills essential for navigating intricate financial settlements or contentious disputes. Exceptional organisational skills facilitating effective management of multiple cases simultaneously without compromising quality or deadlines. Familiarity with digital case management systems such as LEAP or comparable platforms for efficient document handling and compliance monitoring.
