Reporting directly to the Director of Academic Studies you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive support service to staff throughout the department. Duties are varied and include monitoring budget expenditure and allocations, processing orders, invoices and payments, processing student application forms, supporting course advice events, working with data, checking exam entries as well as dealing with correspondence and as the main contact point for enquiries you will liaise with students, parents, staff and employers. In addition to a good standard of general education, you should have a relevant business admin qualification along with previous experience of working in a varied and busy administrative and/or secretarial role. You will have a confident manner with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, excellent MS Office Skills (Word, Excel and Access) and will be able to work efficiently to tight deadlines. Hours of work are usually office hours Monday to Friday, but occasional attendance at open evenings and parents evenings will be required. Main Duties and Responsibilities: ? With the support of the wider Academic Studies administration team, act as the initial point of contact for all enquiries from students, parents and teachers. ? Handle cash where appropriate complying with the College's Financial Regulations. ? Support the Director of Academic Studies with the planning and coordination of A Level exams, assessments, and mocks exams. ? Assist the Director of Academic Studies and Group Heads of Curriculum with the planning of student timetables and tracking of enrolments. ? To work with the Director of Academic Studies: to check data received from Information Services regarding student numbers, retention and achievement on course. Required Skills and Experience: ? Has a good standard of education qualified to level 3 or equivalent and be willing to undertake any relevant professional development. ? Has previous experience of working in a varied administrative and secretarial role with outstanding organisational skills. ? Has a confident manner and able to communicate effectively at all levels showing professionalism to visitors and guests. What's in it for you?
