Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in East Yorkshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in East Yorkshire. Our mission at Targeted Provision is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who want to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise engagement and improve the educational journey.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Students are referred by local authorities and schools and will require educational and social-emotional support
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions that meet needs and advance progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can assist with cost)
* Two professional references
* Must be based in the UK with the right to work, including for remote/online work
It is a strict requirement to promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies at all times.
Employment status
* Engage with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service; paid via PAYE
* No guaranteed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed position
