About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic Head of Internal Communications to develop a comprehensive communications strategy and establish our global communications function. The successful individual will be a self-starter with a proven track record of working in highly regulated global businesses.
AMS has undergone a period of acquisition, resulting in a doubling of the business's size. It is now the ideal time to bring a creative individual into our company to make a lasting impact on our internal communications.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that connect, engage, and inspire employees across our global organisation. You will play a key role in shaping our internal narrative, driving employee engagement, and supporting a culture of transparency, compliance, and innovation.
This role reports into our [Chief People Officer] and offers an ideal opportunity for an individual to have a tangible impact on the growth trajectory we are on.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement an employee communication strategy that aligns with business goals and regulatory requirements.
* Develop a channel strategy to ensure maximum reach and effectiveness of all communications.
* Lead the creation and distribution of internal content, including newsletters, leadership messages, intranet updates, and employee campaigns.
* Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Group Marcoms, HR, H&S) to ensure timely and accurate communication of key initiatives.
* Support change management efforts, including corporate messaging, organisational updates, product launches, and compliance training.
* Develop and execute communication plans for internal events, including town halls, leadership Q&As, and employee recognition programs.
* Measure the impact of internal communications and use the insights gained to refine your strategies.
* Setting up a network of communications champions globally to drive engagement.
* Ensure all internal messaging is consistent with brand voice and compliant with industry regulations (e.g., FDA, MHRA, ISO 13485).
* To manage agency relations to ensure value for money and delivery.
What we’re looking for:
* Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
* Proven ability to translate complex, technical information into clear, engaging content.
* Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience in developing content strategies for a wide range of communications platforms, including social media, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
* Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations in a highly regulated industry.
* Have developed Internal Communications Strategies in geographically dispersed matrix organisations.
Preferred:
* Experience working in a GMP or ISO 13485-compliant environment.
* Experience of medtech or pharma.
* Experience with employee engagement analytics and feedback tools.
* Digital/social media/AI hands on experience.
* Experience writing for translation.
* Bilingual.
* Willing to travel within the Group.
