Job Title: Volunteering Development Co-ordinator

Hours of work: 18½ hours per week
Salary: Pro rata £14,081 (£28,163 FTE) - in line with NJC pay scale 13
This post is for a fixed term until 30 December 2026.
Purpose of the job:
The Volunteering Development Co-ordinator is employed to promote and develop volunteering, and to recruit and retain volunteers for a variety of roles.
This role is funded through the Pears Foundation – The Compassionate Communities grant, with the following outcomes:
* Introduce diverse volunteer roles to boost engagement and create a ‘supporter’ role for individuals transitioning out of formal volunteering.
* Develop digital volunteering support and social media strategies to enhance local recruitment and volunteer numbers.
* Understand the motivations of current and potential volunteers to broaden reach and improve recruitment and retention.
The role carries significant responsibility to ensure Home-Start Nottingham recruits and retains well-trained, committed, and motivated volunteers to meet growing service demands. Additionally, the post involves developing new volunteering opportunities and supporting new volunteers alongside core service coordinators.
Main Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with management and the family support team to promote, recruit, support, and develop volunteers, adhering to governance and quality standards.
* Enhance online volunteering promotion and recruitment, including social media initiatives.
* Generate innovative ideas to expand and improve volunteer engagement.
* Ensure inclusion and diversity in volunteer recruitment processes.
* Coordinate with Home-Start UK and represent Nottingham in project meetings.
* Build partnerships with other charities, educational institutions, and businesses as needed.
