A growing engineering consultancy is looking to strengthen its team with a Civil/Structural Engineer to support projects across the power, energy, and rail sectors.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of infrastructure schemes, contributing to the design and delivery of key assets such as substations, foundations, and associated structures, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
Undertake civil and structural design across projects within the energy and rail sectors, including substations, transformer foundations, gantries, and associated infrastructure
Coordinate closely with civil teams on highways and drainage elements
Deliver designs in line with relevant UK and industry standards and specifications
Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Carry out design reviews and checking procedures to ensure quality and compliance
Incorporate health & safety and CDM considerations throughout the design processProject & Team Involvement
Contribute across all project stages, from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction support
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, and electrical engineers
Support knowledge sharing and continuous technical improvement within the teamClient & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a key point of contact for clients within the infrastructure and energy sectors
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, innovation, and sustainability in design solutionsRequirements
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience within a design consultancy environment
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
Working towards professional chartership (ICE or IStructE)
Strong understanding of UK design standards and industry guidance
Experience using structural analysis and design software (e.g. Tekla TEDDS, Robot, or similar)Candidate Profile
Strong technical capability with a practical, solution-oriented mindset
Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with clients and project teams
Committed to delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable design solutions
