Key Responsibilities
*
Lead and manage the commercial team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate and efficient administration of all projects
*
Oversee and support the commercial team to ensure compliance with all contractual and commercial deadlines
*
Provide clear feedback on framework agreements and project contracts, advising senior management on commercial and contractual risks
*
Manage performance bonds, insurance, and ensure appropriate bond coverage
*
Ensure accurate production and execution of sub-contractor orders and warranties
*
Respond to and resolve any queries related to contractual documentation
*
Ensure compliance with the Construction Act 1996 through proper execution of Payless Notices
*
Take ownership of the commercial email account and provide timely, professional responses
*
Monitor agency orders and ensure compliance with IR35 UK tax legislation
*
Conduct quarterly performance reviews, mentor and support team members to aid professional development
*
Provide accurate data input, project reports, forecasting, and updates to senior management
*
Identify and mitigate commercial project risks
*
Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
What We Need
*
A Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant RICS professional qualification
*
Proven experience within a similar environment
*
Strong leadership, management, and organisational skills
*
Proficiency with IT systems and software, including Microsoft Office
*
Self-motivated with a proactive and positive attitude
*
Ability to work collaboratively and inspire others
*
Full UK driving licence (minimum 6 months post-test)
*
Commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement
Please note that this role requires an Enhanced DBS check, including the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List, and may include additional vetting in line with client requirements.
Terms
Full-time position (42 hours per week)
Monday to Thursday: 07:45hrs to 17:15hrs
Friday: 07:45hrs to 16:45hrs
Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required
