Job Advert: Qualified or Nearly Qualified Accountant
Location: Sutton Coldfield
Salary: £30,000 - £42,000
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time
Role Purpose for a Newly or Nearly Qualified Accountant:
Were looking for an Accounts & Tax Senior / Semi Senior to support partners with accounts preparation, tax compliance and audit work for a varied portfolio of owner managed businesses and individuals within our clients accountancy firm. Youll be studying towards ACA/ACCA or newly qualified, with a clear path to progression.
Key Responsibilities of a Newly or Nearly Qualified Accountant:
Prepare year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Prepare corporation tax computations and CT600s
Prepare personal tax returns
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Assist with bookkeeping and management accounts where required
Support audit assignments
Liaise with clients and HMRC, handling routine queries and inspections
Maintain accurate working papers and files
Support and mentor junior team members as experience grows
Key Skills/Attributes of a Newly or Nearly Qualified Accountant:
ACA/ACCA studied or newly qualified
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax basics
Confident preparing statutory accounts from client software and prime records
Experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks
Good Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
Confident, professional client communication skills
