Technical Assistant Location: Onsite in Nuneaton Contract: Temporary until end of September, with potential extension Hours: Full-time Role Overview: We are looking for a Technical Assistant to support the Health and Safety team within a local authority. You will assist the Health and Safety Manager in promoting a positive health and safety culture and supporting the day-to-day operations of the team. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative support to the Health and Safety team. Take minutes of meetings and maintain accurate records. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and statistical data. Support the implementation and maintenance of health and safety systems and policies. Coordinate and organise health and safety training, including booking rooms and recording attendance. Assist with asbestos management and other health and safety compliance tasks. Respond to written enquiries and Freedom of Information requests as required. Promote health and safety awareness across the organisation. Skills & Experience: Recent experience taking minutes of meetings. Ability to communicate fluently, both written and verbal. Basic knowledge of health and safety legislation. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly. Qualifications: Educated to Level 2 (GCSE A-C or equivalent), including English and Maths. NEBOSH General Certificate is desirable or willingness to work towards it. Personal Qualities: Positive attitude and adaptable to change. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Team player with good interpersonal skills.
