Educato is working on behalf of an SEN school in the Tameside area that is looking to recruit SEN specialists to work with groups of identified pupils with Special Educational Needs. The school requires three SEN Teaching Assistants to start in September 2025, with a specific focus on supporting pupils with Autism. This is initially a supply position, but there are opportunities to earn a school contract.
The incoming SEN Teaching Assistant will be expected to be ready to work full-time starting in September 2025. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be a key player in delivering high-quality support to children with Autism at a school based in Tameside. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to:
* Support individual and small groups of pupils in class
* Assist with planning and delivering personalised learning activities
* Help develop communication, social, and emotional skills
* Contribute to detailed observations, assessments, and progress tracking
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure holistic support
Qualifications and experience required include:
* Team Teach, Level 3 TA, SEN TA, Moving and Handling, or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent experience
* Graduates of Psychology and Sociology are encouraged to apply
* Sports graduates are also welcome
* Team Teach certification is highly desirable
* A genuine passion for SEN and understanding of different learning needs
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, or other additional needs is a bonus
