Children in Care & Care Leavers
Rate: £15.70 per hour
We are recruiting for motivated worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.
Personal Advisor - 35 Hours per week - Monday - Friday
As a personal adviser you will hold a case load of Young people providing 1:1 support whilst undertaking the role as Personal adviser as described in Children Leaving care Act 2000 & the amendments as set out in the Children and Social work Act 2017. This will include reviewing and updating pathway plans .
The skills and abilities we are looking for include the following:
1. Be passionate about improving the life chances of young people.
2. Enjoy working with and understand the needs of adolescents.
3. Be a good team player and be able to work on your own initiative.
4. Be able to work well with other agencies and utilise community resources for the benefit of young people. • Have an understanding of the role of the Corporate Parent.
5. Be qualified at a minimum of Level 3 Child Care or related field.
6. Knowledge of the legal framework in which children’s services operate
7. Excellent organisational skills and abilities
8. Excellent communication skills
9. Excellent time management skills Experience Substantial and demonstrable experience of working with children and families in particular adolescents
10. Understanding of the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and other relevant up to date legislation.
11. Experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with other agencies/ professionals.
12. To demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the service users.
13. Understanding of an assessment process in order to develop plans and implement care packages.
Qualifications
14. Vocational qualification level 3 in Care (or equivalent) in a related field e.g. Social Work, Health, Education, Youth Work
