Job Overview
We are seeking a trainee Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land and tree surveys, preparing precise drawings and maps, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying techniques and the ability to utilise various software tools effectively. The successful candidate will be part of a 6 month training period both onsite and class room based and shall involve a mentoring period with a skilled and experienced surveyor.

The Role:
The position shall have individuals who are comfortable working independently, demonstrating motivation and drive. The main duties of a Surveyor are below:
· Survey trees and vegetation around power lines, reporting what is required to be cut.
· Proficiency in Word and Excel and the ability to operate software systems on tablet devices in the field.
· Extensive knowledge of tree identification and characteristics.
· First Aid Certification With +F
· Eventually obtain UA Certifications: 301, 401, 402.
· Full UK Driving Licence in order to drive to remote sites for land access consents.
· Be able to read maps and navigate to specific locations.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills.
· Ability to communicate with management team
· Communicate whereabouts via Safety Culture, Whatsapp and Email
· Work independently and as part of a team.
· Use initiative to overcome problems or difficulties.
· Follow instructions from management.
· Commitment to personal development, training, and learning new skills.
· Experience and knowledge of strict Health & Safety operations and practical implications.
Training:
Following a period of training and mentoring of around 6 months the successful candidate shall be required to:
· The individual will be required to attend a series of training courses paid for by premier tree care. This will include:
* UA301 safe working round power lines
* UA302 Tree identification
* Emergency first aid at work + Foresty
* UA401 and 402 Surveying around powerlines
* Signing lighting and Guarding (working roadside)
· Conduct Tree Inspection and ability to identify all types of trees, including disease and fungi.
· Be able to follow instructions and input the correct information from sites onto consent forms and upload work to the clients work management system.
· Work to a level where specific targets are met weekly and monthly (surveying a prescriptive number of spans in a week/month)
The Individual shall:
· Have the ability to learn on the job and follow instructions
· Hold a full UK driving licence
· Competent at Microsoft office and ability to quickly learn new IT systems
· Learn from others
· Work independently
· Communicate effectively with management and office team
· Clear DBS (no criminal convictions)
The Package:
· Salary of £26,000.00 while training and rising to £32,000.00 once trained and competent.
