We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Cotswold Chine School, following a trauma-informed approach. The role involves delivering occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and evaluations based on evidence-informed practices. It also includes line management responsibilities such as conducting clinical supervisions, preceptorship programs, and appraisals for Occupational Therapists. Additionally, the role requires analyzing and auditing therapy progress and outcomes for children, sharing findings in professional meetings, and implementing sensory regulation strategies within a trauma-informed, attachment-focused model.
It is essential that you can work effectively within a team, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and manage your caseload independently. Candidates must have experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist, with evidence of mentoring or coaching others to support professional development. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council is mandatory.
Main duties of the job

* Conduct occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and develop support plans and goals for children and residents.
* Manage line responsibilities, including supervisions and appraisals for Occupational Therapists.

* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, providing progress updates and utilizing clinical reasoning skills.

Job responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload, providing assessments and interventions for children and residents, and handling administrative tasks.

* Maintain accurate records and reports, updating the database promptly.
* Support therapy services across the Trust as directed by the Head of Clinical and Therapy.

* Line manage identified occupational therapy staff, including supervision, preceptorship, and appraisals.
* Oversee skill development processes and assist with goal setting across care and therapy teams.
* Supervise Occupational Therapy students during placements, monitoring their progress and providing feedback.
* Maintain your professional development through reflective practice and training.
* Provide support and coaching to care and education staff regarding therapeutic needs.
* Participate actively in training and align with the Trust’s ethos and systems.
