Overview
We're seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations & Commercial Manager to help drive performance, efficiency, and growth within a well-established business in the windows and doors sector. This role combines operational leadership with financial analysis and commercial strategy, and will play a central role in shaping the next chapter of the company's journey.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
* Develop a deep understanding of all departments from showroom to workshop floor.
* Monitor and assess team performance across all areas of the business.
* Ensure accountability and alignment with business objectives and daily standards.
* Drive operational efficiency by identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions.
Financial & Accountancy Support
* Handle daily bookkeeping and oversee general financial operations.
* Monitor and manage cash flow, job costing, and profitability.
* Maintain detailed spreadsheets of jobs completed and jobs in progress.
* Provide analysis of job margins, highlighting missed opportunities and areas for financial improvement.
Commercial Strategy & Business Development
* Identify new commercial opportunities and underperforming areas within the business.
* Recommend and implement strategies to reduce overheads and improve efficiency.
* Explore new markets and help shape the company's entry into them with data-led evidence.
* Collaborate with the MD to execute long-term growth plans.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Background in operations or general management within a manufacturing or construction setting.
* Strong financial acumen with experience in both bookkeeping and higher-level financial analysis.
* Experience in business development or strategic commercial roles.
* Excellent leadership and people management skills.
* A working knowledge of the windows and doors industry is highly desirable.
* Highly organised, analytical, and self-motivated.
