Job Overview
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the end-to-end delivery of custom solar PV projects, including ground-mounted and rooftop installations, from development handover through design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover to operations. Ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery to the highest technical and quality standards across projects of 10 MW and above.
Main Duties
Strategic & Leadership
* Lead the Projects function, define delivery strategy, governance frameworks, and performance standards.
* Build, mentor, and manage multi-disciplinary teams; drive culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Own portfolio planning, resource forecasting, and prioritisation to meet business objectives.
* Act as senior stakeholder interface with clients, investors, network operators, and regulatory bodies.
Project Delivery (EPC Lifecycle)
* Accountable for EPC delivery across concept/detailed design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and energisation.
* Ensure compliance with grid connection requirements, DNO/TSO standards, and power system integration.
* Manage budgets, schedules, risk, change control, and contractual obligations (EPC, BoP, subcontractors).
* Lead readiness reviews, FAT/SAT, and quality assurance/quality control across the lifecycle.
Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance
* Champion a safety-first culture; ensure compliance with UK CDM and company/client HSEQ standards.
* Lead incident prevention, audits, and corrective actions; embed lessons learned.
Commercial & Risk Management
* Own commercial performance: cost control (CPI), schedule performance (SPI), cash flow, and contingency.
* Oversee contract administration, claims avoidance/negotiation, and supplier performance.

Essential Experience
* Substantial experience in project management/operations.
* Team leadership experience managing senior PMs and construction professionals.
* Demonstrable ownership of EPC design, engineering, construction, and commissioning.
Qualifications (Essential)
* Professional Project Management qualification: PMP or IPMA (Level B/C+) or a Degree in Project Management.
* Health & Safety qualification: NEBOSH (General or Construction) or IOSH Managing Safely (minimum).
Degree in Engineering/Construction Management/Energy (or equivalent experience)
