About Our Client
We are delighted to announce we are currently recruiting for a Project Quality Engineer to join our team in Rugby. Reporting to the Quality Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating and compiling all project-specific quality requirements for shop floor manufacturing within the Steam and/or Generators manufacturing facility at Rugby. This role involves monitoring metrics jointly with the SC Quality Leader to drive manufacturing improvements and actively participating in developing and maintaining a quality culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, develop, and coach factory staff on key competencies according to needs.
2. Own the development and implementation of internal NCR/RCA & CAPA plans.
3. Implement improvement actions based on quality plans and customer feedback through continuous improvement.
4. Ensure full document control and compliance with project quality plans during project execution.
5. Coordinate clearing material quality records against specifications with team members.
6. Create quality record sheets for collecting CTQ data to meet project-specific quality plans.
7. Verify, collate, and process completed quality records from the shop floor to the appropriate project folders.
8. Complete NCR paperwork and add additional quality records to the project folders.
9. Support customer meetings as required.
10. Assist with Q-framework, QMS, and ISO audits.
11. Support regulatory compliance and optimize quality system procedures.
12. Proactively identify and mitigate risks to achieve project quality objectives.
13. Collaborate with the CI team to drive sustainable process changes.
14. Lead or support RCA & CAPA plans for external defects.
15. Act in accordance with Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety instructions and company rules.
Essential Qualifications
* Engineering Bachelor's Degree or relevant practical experience in manufacturing, preferably for heavy mechanical components.
* Proven expertise in customer resolution & preventive tools, ISO standards.
* Inclusive leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
* Ability to self-direct within defined responsibilities.
* Knowledge of Lean and/or other continuous improvement methods.
* Team player willing to prioritize team goals over individual ones when necessary.
