Job Title: Pipefitter
Salary: £38,662 per annum + shift allowance + overtime
Location: Glasgow
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world's leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Pipefitter. The role will be based in Glasgow and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern. The company works at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries. They are looking for a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join their team in Clyde. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and installing piping systems across a range of projects in the defence sector, while maintaining high safety and quality standards. There are 3 shifts available and the successful candidate would start on a day shift with discussion on preferred shifts. A 33% shift allowance applies to night and weekend shifts. Overtime rates are provided in the Benefits section.
Shifts and Hours
* Day Shift: Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 4:30pm
* Night Shift: Monday – Thursday 8:30pm – 6:00am
* Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday 7:00am – 7:30pm
Overtime is available.
Main Responsibilities
* Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small-bore pipework using copper, CuNi, carbon steel and stainless steel
* Using a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend and weld pipes and install pipework
* Installing utilities aboard ships (sinks, showers, toilets)
* Install and assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to drawings and specifications
* Collaborate with other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion
* Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures at all times
* Maintain accurate records of work carried out

About You
* Essential: Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers with relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
* Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture, installation, and use of associated equipment
* Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH and Risk Assessments
* Proven experience as a Pipefitter or similar within an industrial or commercial environment
* Desirable: Marine Pipefitting Experience
* Experience in industrial or commercial settings
* Understanding of manufacturing processes
* Experience in TIG pipe welding
* Welding
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and therefore must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
