We are delighted to support our longstanding client as they recruit a Technical Accountant to join the Group Reporting Team within the Corporate Finance function, with variety support required within the FRC Team also. Reporting to the Group Reporting Director, you'll take on a varied and challenging role that provides excellent learning opportunities and strong prospects for career progression. You'll work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality financial reporting and technical accounting insights.
Our client are looking for a proactive self-starter with a solid foundation in technical accounting and statutory financial reporting. Ideally, you'll also bring experience in core accounting processes and internal controls.
Your duties will include:
1. Undertaking a key role in preparing internal annual and quarterly Group Reporting requirements and external Annual Report.
2. Preparation of UK Group Consolidated Financial Statements and review of subsidiaries Companies House statutory Financial Statements
3. Research and interpret International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), including the impacts of new IFRSs on the Group, and provide appropriate solutions to technical accounting issues across the Group.
4. Perform key reconciliations, including the Group equity position on a monthly basis.
5. Prepare and maintain models for complex technical accounting areas such as share-based payments, embedded derivatives and hedge accounting.
6. Work closely with the Group's finance community to resolve any financial and external reporting queries in a timely and effective manner.
7. Preparation of the annual goodwill model and asset impairment reviews.
8. Preparation of the subsidiary Financial Statements investment valuation model.
9. Review of entity reduction step-plans, dividend proposals and distributable reserves.
10. Provide training on technical accounting issues to the Group's finance community.
11. Preparation of documentation related to procedures, processes and accounting policies to be included in the Group's Business Management System.
12. Participation in the review and development of financial controls processes.
13. Liaise with external auditors to support the audit of the Group and subsidiaries.
Applications are invited from fully qualified accountants (ICAS or ACCA qualifications preferred) with excellent working technical knowledge of IFRS and experience in the preparation and review of consolidated and subsidiary statutory Financial Statements.
