We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Phonics Intervention Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the LS6 area of Leeds. This full-time role is available for an immediate start and offers an ongoing opportunity, with a daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The role focuses on delivering targeted phonics interventions to support pupils who require additional help with early reading and literacy development.
The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong emphasis on early intervention and high standards in reading and phonics. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all pupils receive the support they need to succeed, particularly in the early stages of literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver structured phonics intervention sessions to individuals and small groups.
* Support pupils with early reading, blending, and decoding skills.
* Track pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
* Reinforce phonics strategies used within the classroom to ensure consistency.
Pre‑requisites:
* Experience supporting phonics or early literacy in a primary school setting.
* Familiarity with recognised phonics schemes (such as Read Write Inc, Little Wandle, or similar).
* A patient, encouraging, and structured approach to learning support.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teachers and pupils.
