Job Summary
The SET CAMHS Crisis and Therapeutic Home Treatment team offers assessment and interventions to young people in mental deterioration or crisis presentations. Working within the Thrive model, the team implements collaborative care plans with community services and promotes positive outcomes for vulnerable young people and families.
As a senior practitioner you will lead operational oversight, develop service provision across Essex, Southend and Thurrock, and support staffing, recruitment, inductions, supervision and performance management.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessments and brief therapeutic interventions to young people in crisis.
* Lead operational practice, oversee staffing, rotas, recruitment, inductions and staff development.
* Support performance management and auditing to improve service delivery.
* Engage in some direct clinical work and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
* Contribute to service development and participate in shared risk model decisions.
* Provide training, supervision and consultation to junior team members and external professionals.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Mental Health Nurse (NMC), Social Worker, or psychological practitioner (clinical psychologist, family therapist, child & adolescent psychotherapist) registered with the relevant professional body.
* Experience working with high‑risk client groups within CAMHS or crisis services.
* Evidence of experience with evidence‑based therapeutic interventions (e.g. CBT, DBT, MBT).
* Leadership experience and ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Post‑graduate training completion (e.g. arts psychotherapy, clinical psychology, SFT, CBT, DBT, MBT) is desirable.
Employment Details
Band 7, Salary £47,810 to £54,710 pro‑rata, Permanent, Full‑time, Part‑time, Job share. Working pattern flexible, location: Stapleford House, 103 Stapleford Close, Chelmsford, CM2 0QX.
