About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of its ethical sourcing. You will recommend recipes to customers and actively bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life.
You will use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, positively impacting their impression of the Waitrose brand and encouraging repeat visits by earning their trust and loyalty. Additionally, you will help maximize sales and profit.
Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for your food counter, ensuring high presentation and hygiene standards.
* Monitor stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
* Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols and reducing food wastage.
* Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.
Essential skills/experience
* Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.
Desirable skills/experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality.
* Interest in current food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the branch as needed.
