BeyondAutism are dedicated to their vision of ensuring autistic children and young adults access an education which empowers a life full of choice, independence and opportunity. As the Head of Finance, you will play a critical role in the charity, keeping them financially strong, strategically agile, and ready for growth. Working closely with the CEO, COO, Senior Management Team (SMT), Trustees, and key external stakeholders, you will help them to continue to provide life-changing services and education.
This strategic and hands-on leadership role would be perfect for someone who thrives on collaboration and wants to shape the financial future of a high-impact charity. Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading on all financial planning, reporting, and management accounts to ensure financial rigour
* Overseeing budget setting, year-end reporting, and external audits in line with Charity SORP
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, including the Charity Commission, Ofsted, and Company Law
* Preparing and presenting financial reports for the Board and Finance Committee meetings
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with banks, local authorities, insurers, and landlords
* Overseeing payroll, pensions, employee benefits, and internal controls to maintain financial efficiency and compliance
It is fundamental that you share the charity’s vision and values. You’ll be a qualified accountant with a strong understanding of Charity SORP
* Experience at a senior level within the charity and/or education sector (preferred)
* A proven track record in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and compliance
* The ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, and provide financial modelling and analysis
* Strong stakeholder management skills – comfortable working with Boards, leadership teams, and external partners
* A keen eye for detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
