Catering Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from as soon as possible This full-time Catering Teacher role offers the opportunity to join a supportive secondary school setting with a strong focus on practical learning and pupil engagement. The Catering Teacher will deliver structured and engaging lessons that develop pupils’ practical skills, confidence, and understanding of food preparation, nutrition, and kitchen safety within a well-organised learning environment. Duties as Catering Teacher: Plan and deliver practical and theory-based catering and food preparation lessons Teach pupils key skills in food hygiene, nutrition, and safe kitchen practices Create an engaging and structured learning environment during practical sessions Manage classroom and kitchen behaviour effectively, ensuring health and safety compliance Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback Prepare, organise, and maintain resources and equipment for practical lessons Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum delivery Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times Ideal Catering Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, or relevant teaching experience in catering or food technology Strong subject knowledge in catering, food preparation, or hospitality Experience delivering practical lessons in a school or training environment Confident classroom and practical session management skills Ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people Why Step Teachers?
