Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
In support of the Theatre Clinical Manager, the post holder is responsible for the operational management of designated elective orthopaedic theatres within Central Middlesex Hospital, including budget awareness, clinical governance, and staff development and training.
In conjunction with other Senior Registered Theatre Nurses - Orthopaedic, the post holder manages the operational aspects of the Operating Theatres in the absence of the Clinical Theatre Manager. Responsibilities include theatre utilization, ensuring prompt start of lists, minimizing delays, and maintaining throughput.
The post holder provides professional leadership within the clinical area, offering direction and inspiration to the multidisciplinary team. They will also be involved in developing protocols, guidelines, and patient information.
The service operates six days a week, and the post holder may be required to work at different locations to meet the Trust's needs. Participation in the on-call rota for CMH Theatres is also required.

Education and Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with Theatre Course (Essential)
* Registered ODP (Essential)
* Level 6 or above academic qualification (Desirable)

* Extensive experience as Band 6 Scrub Team Leader (Essential)
* Extensive knowledge of elective Orthopaedic Scrub procedures (Essential)
