Job Title: Registered Manager
Location: Natland, Cumbria
Salary: £40,000-£50,000 depending on experience plus £65 per sleep-in and £50-£100 per on-call
Hours: Full Time - Permanent
We are currently seeking a Registered Manager to join a specialist service supporting children aged 6-10 years old who have experienced significant trauma.
This is a unique opportunity to work with, and make a real difference to, the lives of very young children, aged 6-10. The children have experienced significant trauma in their lives, often compounded by multiple breakdowns with family and foster care placements. The company's goal is to provide therapeutic intervention to help the children move on from the home before reaching their teenage years, equipping them with skills and resilience to manage in family settings and schools.
Main Purpose of the Role:
You will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the home and ensuring its safe and effective operation.
Expectations:
* Ensure the safety and well-being of children and adults are appropriately protected at all times
* Inspire, lead, and manage a team of staff to deliver high-quality care tailored to each child's needs
* Your leadership will result in positive experiences and progress for children and adults
* Actively promote equality and diversity, challenging discriminatory behaviors
* Maintain thorough knowledge of:
o All aspects of practice related to managing a children's home
o Legislation and guidance applicable to children's homes
o Ofsted policies and procedures, including inspection framework guidance
Requirements:
* Level 5 Residential Childcare - Leadership & Management qualification
* At least 2 years of leadership experience in residential settings, including recruitment, training, performance management, and disciplinary procedures
* Experience managing OFSTED inspections and other regulatory bodies, including Regulation 44 and 45 reviews
* Experience handling conflict and managing sensitive issues to achieve positive outcomes
* Experience working with budgets
* Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures
* Experience managing health and safety, including fire safety and compliance legislation
