We’re looking for a Caretaker/Handyperson to help us maintain our housing schemes to the highest standards; ensuring they remain secure, well-presented, and comfortable for our residents. This role will be based in our Eden Park scheme in Corby.
In this hands-on and rewarding role, you’ll carry out a mix of caretaking, maintenance, and minor repair tasks across our schemes, supporting residents and working closely with our housing and maintenance teams to deliver great service every day.

What you’ll be doing
* Ensure our schemes and communal areas are safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times.
* Carry out routine inspections and safety checks. Including fire alarms, lifts, lighting, and security systems.
* Report and address health & safety issues, ensuring compliance with policies and maintaining hazard-free environments.
* Provide or oversee cleaning and grounds maintenance. Including litter picking, bin area management, graffiti removal, and garden upkeep.
* Complete minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as lock changes, adjusting door closers, painting, clearing drains, and fixing gates or fencing.
* Respond to emergencies, such as floods or security issues, liaising with contractors and emergency services when needed.
* Support with property preparation for re-letting, including cleaning, clearing, and minor repair work.
* Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues identified.
* Build positive relationships with residents and contractors, ensuring a friendly and professional service at all times.
What we’re looking for:
* Previous experience in repair, caretaking, or general maintenance duties.
* Basic handyperson skills to complete repairs of a domestic nature.
* A good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused approach.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of your daily schedule.
* Experience within a housing or similar environment is an advantage.
* Experience assisting with decorating and maintenance projects.

Disclosure and Barring Service:
This role requires of the successful candidate to complete a standard DBS check. A standard DBS check will show any spent and unspent convictions.
So why do we need to know this information? This role will be required to visit / support PA Housing residents in their own homes on a regular basis. Therefore we have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing.
